In our house, family time often revolves around creativity, laughter, and a little friendly competition. One of our favorite ways to connect as a family is through the Roblox game Dress to Impress. This game brings out our inner fashionistas and gives us plenty of reasons to smile. For my 9-year-old daughter, it’s a playground of self-expression and imagination. For the rest of us, it’s a chance to dive into her world and make some unforgettable memories.
In Dress to Impress, players dress their avatars to match a specific theme. Each round brings a new challenge—like “Red Carpet Glam,” “Quirky Styles,” or “Out-of-This-World Looks.”
My daughter absolutely loves diving into her virtual wardrobe, mixing colors, accessories, and hairstyles to create the perfect outfit. Watching her excitement as she proudly showcases her designs (and waits to see if they’re a crowd favorite) is pure joy.
Once everyone has submitted their designs, or just run out of time then, it’s time to vote. This is where the game becomes a family and friend affair. We are all glued to our screens as we pick our favorites from the lineup. Sometimes, we’re amazed by the creativity of other players; other times, we’re laughing at the wonderfully wacky interpretations of the theme. My daughter loves hearing which outfits we’d choose and why, and she’s always thrilled when her creation gets a top spot.
One of the things I love most about Dress to Impress is how it sparks learning moments. Some themes, like “Renaissance” or “Steampunk,” are unfamiliar to my daughter. That’s where I get to step in and share a bit of history or inspiration. We’ll look up pictures together, talk about the styles of the era, and brainstorm outfit ideas. It’s such a wonderful way to mix fun and education, and I cherish these opportunities to share something new with her.
While my daughter and I are the main players, Dad occasionally jumps in for a round or two for some Daddy, Daughter time. It’s hilarious to watch him try to piece together a “Fairy Tale” or “Disco Fever” look. He might not be the most fashion-savvy, but his outfits always bring the biggest laughs. These moments are priceless, reminding us that it’s not about winning but about enjoying the time we spend together.
Dress to Impress is more than just a game for our family; it’s a way to connect, collaborate, and celebrate each other’s creativity. It’s a space where my daughter feels seen and supported, where her ideas are celebrated, and where we all get to be a little silly together. Whether we’re voting on outfits, learning about new themes, or laughing at Dad’s wild interpretations, every session leaves us feeling closer as a family.
